Welcome to the project Chapel Dierikon

Chapel Dierikon

For the Dierikon chapel, which has been converted into a stylish restaurant and event venue, LIGHT ON developed a lighting concept that relies heavily on daylight. During the day, the interior is wonderfully illuminated by ambient light, with only minimal artificial lighting support.

Daylight even reaches the floor of the platform suspended from the ceiling via slits in the balustrade. As sunlight streams through the glazing of the listed Gothic windows it creates an interesting play of colours within. A 3m diameter ring luminaire provides atmospheric light in the seating area with high, glare-free down-light. An indirect light component impressively accentuates the beautiful ceiling painting. Down- and uplighting can be controlled separately allowing for a wide variety of lighting moods to be called upon as required.
