For the commercial building situated at Löwenstrasse 1 and 3, Zurich, which is also a listed building, LIGHT ON developed a lighting concept for both staircases. The challenge was to ensure that the quality of light in the two different staircases was identical. This was solved using lamps with an output of just 35 Watts per unit. Plano-convex lenses create glare-free light in both the upwards and downwards directions, which only dazzles if you stare right at the light source. The required light strengths were determined by LIGHT ON using technical light programs. Thanks to the detailed planning and precise design specifications for the manufacturer, it proved possible for the tricky installation in the listed building to be prepared optimally and completed in just two days.
